Nearby beaches recommended by the Marine Conservation Society for water quality and with the benefit of RNLI Lifeguards, include Poldhu Cove, Praa Sands, Coverack, Carbis Bay, and Gyllyngvase at Falmouth.
Also recommended for water quality but without lifeguards are Polurrian Cove itself, Porthleven, Kennack Sands and many others further afield.
Garden enthusiasts have a treat in store with local garden estates open to the public, featuring exotic species that thrive in the climate here in the southernmost part of the UK.
